Independent Audit Committee MemberNorwich500 Per dayWorking hours: Approximately 6 to 10 days per annumThe Independent Member of Norse Group Limiteds Audit Committee, which is a sub-committee of the companys board, will provide expert consultancy advice on matters in relation to the companys annual reports. internal and external audit, accounting policies, controls and significant accounting judgements, in line with the terms of reference of the Audit Committee. You will review appropriate proposals, papers and financial reports in detail, challenging and advising the groups management.Main Responsibilities:The responsibilities of the Audit Committee Member are to consider, review and make recommendations to the Norse Group Board of Directors on the following matters:Financial Reporting, to include the integrity of the financial statements of the CompanyInternal Controls and Risk Management SystemsCompliance, Whistleblowing and FraudInternal AuditExternal Audit, including in relation to the appointment, re-appointment and removal of the Companys external auditor.Any other Audit related matter that the Norse Board of Directors may request the Committee to consider or review from time to timeThe duties listed are not exhaustive and may be varied therefore the post holder will be expected to undertake other duties as appropriate to the role and as requested by the Audit Committee ChairCandidate Requirements:Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or a relevant related field or ACA, FCA, ACCA member, CIMA member or equivalentSubstantial senior level experience in a finance, corporate finance or audit roleExtensive senior management or business leadership experienceA working knowledge of local authorities and local authority trading companiesExcellent leadership skills demonstrating integrity, credibility and gravitas; able to engage effectively with multiple stakeholders at all levels; able to inform, persuade and influenceAn analytical mind-set with great problem-solving abilities together with an excellent knowledge of financial reporting, cash management, and experience in managing audit processesDemonstrable commercial acumen with an emphasis on understanding financial and reporting consequences of proposed actionsExcellent numerical, written and verbal communication skills with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeVisionary with critical thinking skills; willing to challenge and scrutinise with the ability to support decision makingWe reserve the right to close the vacancy once we have received sufficient applications, so please be advised to submit your application as early as possible.Due to the high number of applications we receive for our vacancies, if you do not hear from us within two weeks of the date you apply, please assume that your application has been unsuccessful.We are committed to employment practices and behaviours which encourage diversity, promote equality of treatment and eliminate unlawful and or unfair discrimination.JBRP1_UKTJ
