Business Development Manager – Energy & Net Zero SolutionsSalary £65,000 + car allowance + bonusLocation Coventry or LondonAbout the RoleThis role is focused on identifying and securing new business opportunities to drive revenue growth and improve profitability within a fast-growing digital energy services business. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for pitching and demonstrating proprietary digital energy solutions, both in person and remotely, to senior decision-makers across UK organisations.You will typically lead sales engagements with a Net Zero Consultancy offering, alongside core energy management services, providing customers with a fully holistic solution. Innovative tools such as a reverse auction platform and funded energy monitoring solutions form key differentiators within the proposition.This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious and innovative business committed to making Net Zero both achievable and commercially viable for UK organisations.Key ResponsibilitiesResearch target organisations and identify new business opportunities to grow the customer baseDevelop and implement strategies to successfully engage new prospectsBuild and manage a strong sales pipeline through proactive prospecting, relationship building and market awarenessGenerate leads and conduct cold calling to arrange meetings, either face-to-face or via video conferencingBuild trusted relationships with customers and prospects, understanding their needs and developing tailored proposalsPitch digital energy and Net Zero solutions to senior stakeholders and decision-makers to successfully close dealsIdentify opportunities for sales campaigns and collaborate with Marketing to support executionAttend industry events and conferences to build relationships and generate new leadsAccurately forecast sales performance and maintain detailed records of all sales activity within the CRM systemDeliver presentations to customers and internal senior managementWork towards quarterly and annual sales targets set by the Sales DirectorKey RelationshipsInternal:Service Delivery teamsMarketing teamExternal:Managing DirectorsOperations DirectorsClient Services DirectorsEssential Skills & ExperienceDemonstrable experience selling Net Zero and/or energy management solutionsProven track record of delivering new business growth within an energy procurement environmentStrong knowledge of the UK energy supply and procurement marketExperience pitching to C-suite and senior stakeholders in a B2B environmentCommercially astute, with the ability to create profitable proposals aligned to internal guidelinesExcellent organisation skills with the ability to manage a demanding workloadStrong sales, presentation and storytelling skillsConfident communicator with well-developed negotiation skillsComfortable making cold calls and initiating new business conversationsHighly results-driven with a strong desire to exceed targetsGrowth-focused mindset with an appetite for increased responsibilityTeam-oriented, accountable and reliableLocation & Working PatternHybrid working model, ideally two days per week in the office and three days remote, with flexibility based on business needs.Diversity, Inclusion & FlexibilityThe organisation is committed to building a diverse, inclusive and supportive workplace.
