H9 Talent Solutions are exclusively partnered with FCC Environment to deliver their O&M team for the Lostock Sustainable Energy Project. We are currently hiring for a Mechanical Maintenance Team Lead to work at their new build EfW plant in Northwich where you will be responsible for managing, developing, and coordinating the team and activities required to meet operational and engineering targets in a dynamic, safety-first environment.Role and Responsibilities:Leading the Mechanical maintenance team and supporting the Maintenance Manager with day-to-day operationsCoordinating planned, preventative, and breakdown maintenance across plant equipmentOverseeing maintenance contractors and support organisationsDeveloping staff through appraisals, training, and dual-skilling initiativesPlanning and managing outages, budgets, and maintenance of critical mechanical sparesDealing with the written scheme of examination and pressure parts legislation, ensuring all parts of Lostock plant stay compliant.Maintaining quality control and adherence to HSE standards, actively participating in HSE initiatives and forumsSupporting other UK stations if required and standing in for the Maintenance Manager when neededDriving improvements in plant operations, team performance, and system reliabilityManaging maintenance projects and contributing to the overall success of the EfW operationContributing to improvement projects, streamlining maintenance processes and enhancing system safetyBeing on-call and providing leadership during dynamic conditions (e.g., plant start-ups or faults)Experience:Proven leadership and team development experienceStrong knowledge of thermal plant processes, steam cycle chemistry, and rotating/mechanical equipmentFamiliarity with safety rules, permit systems, and compliance monitoringGood commercial awareness including experience managing budgets and contractsComfortable reading and interpreting technical drawings and maintenance documentationMotivated, hands-on leader with strong organisational and people management skillsCollaborative and approachable personality with the ability to inspire and guide a teamAble to thrive in a performance-driven environment and work flexibly when neededConfident communicator with excellent verbal and written skillsStrong problem-solving abilities with a detail-oriented approachCommitment to high health & safety and environmental standardsProactive, adaptable mindset with a drive to improve operational effectivenessQualifications:HNC/HND or Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (mechanical preferred)Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory mechanical maintenance role within a power plant or similar heavy industrial environmentIOSH or NEBOSH qualification (preferred) or strong working knowledge of HSE principlesExperience with CMMS and Microsoft Office software
