HGV Technician

Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated HGV Technician to join our client. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical and electrical background, with the ability to diagnose and repair heavy goods vehicles efficiently. This role is vital in ensuring our fleet operates at peak performance, providing excellent service to our customers. Duties Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics of HGVs to identify faults and issues. Perform repairs and maintenance on various components, including engines, transmissions, and braking systems. Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for repairs and fabrication tasks. Weld and fabricate parts as necessary to ensure vehicle integrity and performance. Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems within the vehicles. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and time taken for each job. Adhere to health and safety regulations while working in the workshop environment. Experience Candidates should have: Proven experience as an HGV Technician or in a similar role within the automotive industry. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform equipment repair efficiently. Familiarity with electrical systems in heavy goods vehicles is essential. Experience using welding techniques for vehicle repairs is advantageous. A good understanding of customer service principles, ensuring client satisfaction at all times. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
