Support Worker We are hiring full-time, part-time and bank support workers. We can also offer Weekend Only positions. Please note: Shift pattern is 7am-2:30pm and 2:15pm-9:45pm and also the possibility of long days 7am-10pm Alternative weekends is required. UK Driving License and access to a vehicle is essential. Salary: 12.57-12.79 per hour dependent on qualifications/experience. Overall purpose of the post To: Work as part of the Oakfield Team to provide a caring and stimulating environment within which each individual is able to fulfil their own potential. Encourage and develop the skills and independence in all walks as life of those who we support. Help those who we support prepare meals and drinks. Help and encourage those who we support undertake a range of household tasks such as cleaning, washing, ironing and shopping in order to promote independence and life skills. Encourage them to maintain individual personal and hygiene needs as described in their care plans whilst ensuring any special needs or requirements are met. Encourage and facilitate participation in a wide range of activities, hobbies, trips and exercise. Carry out all duties in a professional and courteous manner with an understanding of the impact of ones actions and attitudes on tenants, residents, colleagues, relatives and visitors to Oakfield premises. Follow instructions and adhere to care plans and organisational policies in order to provide a high standard of personalised care in line with CQC Essential Standards for all Oakfield Community residents. Demonstrate awareness and understanding of equal opportunities and other peoples behavioural, physical, social and welfare needs. Ensure that reasonable care is taken at all times for the health, safety and welfare of yourself and other persons, and to comply with the legislation, policies and procedures relating to health and safety, staff training and supervision within the organisation. Record daily activities and refer any issues of concern to the Senior Carer/team leader to ensure tenants receive support and care appropriate to their assessed needs. Use a range of lifting and transporting equipment as necessary to help and support tenants with limited mobility in accordance with appropriate training, policies and procedures. Fully participate in and contribute to a care teams. Carry out any other duties which fall within the broad spirit, scope and purpose of this job description and which are commensurate with the skills level of the post. Person Specification Education and Qualifications: Essential Criteria - This post will require satisfactory clearance of an enhanced disclosure and barring service certificate.Literate and numerate, having attained a good level of education.Undertake all mandatory and developmental training.A willingness to work toward a level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care Desirable Criteria - NVQ level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care. Experience and Knowledge: Essential Criteria - Knowledge of basic health, safety and hygiene standards.Evidence of competence in and a commitment to personal and professional development.Record activities and data relating to residents and tenants. Desirable Criteria - Competence in administering of medicines.Experience working in the care sector.Knowledge of CQC Essential Standards. Ability and Skills: Essential Criteria - Good level of interpersonal and communication skills.The ability to deal with people of all temperaments.Support care for and encourage those who we work.The ability to work to a daily routine with a flexible approach.Work as a member of a team.Able to use your initiative, to be creative and think outside of the box.To be physically able to attend to all residents and tenants needs.The ability to follow instructions, procedures and guidelines.Be able to maintain a professional approach at all times.To feel confident in communicating issues or concerns.Work flexible.Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
