Job Description SummaryThis high performing UK business is part of a global specialist materials manufacturing group. The UK business has two sites (180 employees) manufacturing a range of advanced materials and industrial components for a variety of sectors including energy, electronics, chemical, pharmaceutical, aerospace and transport industries.The UK business has ambitious growth plans, requiring a UK Managing Director who can lead on developing existing clients as well as identifying and securing new markets.ExperienceThe role requires a technical background and an engineering related degree, along with proven experience in business development and leading business operations. Youll be an entrepreneurial commercial leader with industrial / manufacturing experience. Youll also need to be comfortable operating in an international matrix organisation.You may already hold an MD remit, or you may be at Director level seeking a step up into your first Managing Director role.Role ResponsibilitiesManaging commercial activity, including strategy definition and execution.Developing and implementing short term and long term business plans to grow revenue.Operational management and improvement.Sales strategy setting and market analysis.Building and preserving relationships with key customers to drive sales.The role can be based on site or hybrid with frequent travel to both manufacturing sites (NE and NW England) and to client locations.
