Job Description CY Partners is supporting a growing diagnostics organisation operating at the forefront of point of care testing, as they look to appoint a Senior R&D Scientist into their expanding R&D team.This is a senior, hands on scientific role with genuine influence. Youll play a key part in developing diagnostic products from early feasibility through to scale up and transfer into manufacturing, while also supporting and mentoring other scientists within the team.The opportunityYoull be working within a collaborative, commercially focused R&D environment, contributing to a diverse pipeline of diagnostic development projects for both internal product development and external partners.This role suits someone who enjoys technical ownership, thrives on problem solving and wants to see their work progress beyond the lab and into real world application.What youll be doingPlanning and leading experimental work packages to deliver technical milestones on timeActing as a technical expert in lateral flow assay design and developmentDriving improvements in assay development methods and technical approachesReviewing and approving experimental data and technical reportsSupporting assay development from feasibility through scale-up and manufacturing transferWorking cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory and Project teamsPreparing, analysing and presenting data to internal and external stakeholdersWriting and reviewing SOPs in line with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 requirementsSupporting audits, supplier discussions and technical input into marketing materialsCoaching and supporting junior scientists and new startersTaking ownership of equipment, processes and best practice within the departmentWhat were looking forEssentialA relevant scientific degreeStrong understanding of immunoassays and diagnostic technologiesProven experience planning and delivering experimental R&D workStrong data analysis and reporting capabilityHigh attention to detail and robust documentation standardsDesirableA higher degreeExperience working in a regulated environment (ISO 13485 / ISO 9001)Track record of delivering technical projects through to completionWhy consider this role?Exposure to innovative point of care diagnostic developmentA senior technical role with real ownership and influenceClear visibility of work progressing into manufacturing and marketCollaborative, forward thinking culture that values expertise and initiativeOpportunities to engage with customers, suppliers and external partnersThis search is being managed on a confidential basis.
