About Us We are a dynamic and growing group of five businesses with a combined turnover of over 10 million, operating across; Architecture Build Electrical Engineering Building Maintenance Interiors We are looking for a capable and driven Management Accountant to support our Financial Controller in overseeing the financial operations of the group. You will play a key role in the financial management of the group, providing insightful reporting and ensuring the accuracy of financial information across all five entities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a varied, fast-paced environment and is comfortable juggling multiple priorities across multiple businesses. Key Responsibilities Oversee the monthly closing process by managing key balance sheet accounts such as provisions, intercompany transactions, and accruals to ensure accuracy and compliance. Produce comprehensive monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all entities, identifying potential risks and opportunities for improvement. Work with the financial controller in preparing detailed monthly management accounts including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for five trading entities. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning Prepare and submit VAT returns Overseeing CIS returns, checks and reconciliation prior to approving submission by the team Monitor cash flow and working capital requirements Support project accounting needs, including cost tracking and profitability analysis Prepare project budgets and monitor project costs. Track and forecast project financials such as revenues, costs and margin. Prepare monthly billing for projects Contribute to the development and implementation of financial systems and process improvements Assisting with other ad-hoc tasks as required Key Requirements Ideally we would like you to be a full/part Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA etc.). However, candidates with extensive experience will be considered; as well as assistant management accountants wishing to take that next step At least 3yrs practical work experience Engineering or Construction background preferred but not essential Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, etc.) Experience of preparing and posting month end journals Experience of ledger/control account reconciliation Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines Strong interpersonal and communication skills Assist the Financial Controller to oversee a small team CIS compliance knowledge would be desirable but not essential BENEFITS INCLUDE; Competitive salary (DOE) 33 days holiday(including bank holidays) Training & development opportunities Social events On site car parking Enhanced maternity & paternity pay Extensive wellbeing support including EAP Monument are an equal opportunities employer and promote equality and inclusion in the workplace.
