A global engineering manufacturer with a reputation for technical excellence is looking to recruit a Quality Control / Assurance Engineer to support the inspection, compliance and certification of complex mechanical systems.Are you the right applicant for this opportunity Find out by reading through the role overview below.Based at an established manufacturing facility in Kirkbymoorside, this role offers the opportunity to work on world-class engineered products used in demanding offshore and subsea environments. You will play a key role in ensuring quality standards are met from goods-in through to final assembly, working closely with engineering, production and suppliers.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer who enjoys hands-on inspection, problem-solving and continuous improvement within a high-specification engineering environment.As Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining product quality and compliance across mechanical, machining and weld activities.Inspecting fabricated, machined and assembled components against engineering drawings and specificationsPerforming mechanical, dimensional, visual, paint and weld inspections on-site and at supplier premisesSupporting engineering change control and non-conformance managementPreparing and maintaining quality documentation, certification packs and inspection recordsSupporting vendor quality management and supplier auditsMonitoring corrective and preventative actions to ensure timely closureAssisting with quality system compliance and continuous improvement initiativesMaintaining strong housekeeping and health, safety and environmental standardsTo be successful in this Quality Engineer role, you will have:510 years experience in a quality control or quality assurance role within a mechanical manufacturing environmentExperience inspecting machined, fabricated and welded componentsStrong ability to read and interpret engineering drawingsHands-on experience using measuring equipment such as vernier callipers and micrometresISO auditor qualification or equivalentWorking knowledge of ISO 9001, xjdpvnf ISO 45001 and ISO 14001Understanding of lean manufacturing, TQM and continuous improvement tools such as PDCA, DMAIC, Six Sigma and 5SProficiency with Microsoft Excel and AccessA proactive, organised and detail-focused approachYou will also hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel to UK supplier and client sites when required.Whats On OfferCompetitive salary with long-term career stabilityHybrid working optionExposure to complex, high-value engineering projectsOpportunity to work within a globally recognised engineering businessSupportive, professional working environment with a strong quality culture
