Our Health in Justice service line is now expanding into non-Custodial healthcare, a person-centred approach delivered via a solid and consolidated infrastructure aimed to assess individuals mental health and neurodiversity requirements, to redirect them to the most appropriate channel. We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Time and Recovery Navigator to join our team in North Yorkshire.LocationScarborough Police Station - some travel may be required.SalaryThis position is full time, working 37.5 hours per week and you will receive a salary of29,264 to 33,510depending on experienceHours8am - 6pm over a 7 day period (37.5 hours per week)Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.What you'll be doingAs aSupport Time and Recovery Navigator,your responsibilities will vary. You will:be part of an extended team working across Liaison & Diversion serviceliaise with a wide range of services such as the police, probation, courts and legal services as well as both inpatient and community health and social care servicesinvolved in the daily support of people in touch with children and adults, including those from hard-to-reach communities to engage and navigate through the Criminal Justice Systemsupport access to the full scope of identified health needs, including substance misuse (alcohol and drugs), mental and physical health, homelessness, learning disabilities, exploitation, safeguarding and social care issuesprovide practical support to individuals, maintaining a programme of support, working with their families, advocating and enabling access to agencies including probation services, community-based organisations, clinics, courts, mental health services and hospitalsHow will we support you? We aim to deliver a truly integrated model that will guide all groups involved in the judicial pathway to provide a more meaningful experience to the individuals involved.Qualifications, skills and experience required:Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Health and/or Social Care or equivalent experience.Experience of working with service users, face to face, with a variety of health needs.Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency workingExcellent communication skills and ability to gain appropriate level of consentUnderstanding of clinical governance, health and safetyKnowledge of evidence based practice, health promotion, NICE guidelinesProactive problem solving skillsFlexible attitude to working arrangementsMotivated as an individual and when working in a teamPatient centred values and ability to promote service user involvementOur person-centred model is focused on providing meaningful pathways to anyone faced with criminal charges, as well as understanding what triggers and socio-economic circumstances might lead to people offending.
