We are now looking for a Building Surveyor to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working Monday Friday, 9:00am 5:00pm. The Role As a Building Surveyor, you will lead and deliver construction, maintenance, and refurbishment projects across our diverse property portfolio. You will oversee planned and reactive works from initial assessment through to completion, providing professional guidance to support the evolving vision for the parish estate and ensuring buildings are safe, well-maintained, and fit for long-term use. Managing full project lifecycles, you will prepare specifications and drawings, oversee statutory applications, administer contracts, and co-ordinate consultants, contractors, and stakeholders. With responsibility for asset and condition surveys, you will advise on property suitability, compliance, sustainability, and long-term capital planning, contributing to the development of a diocesan-wide asset management strategy. Additionally, you will: - Manage tendering and procurement - Oversee peril insurance repair works - Administer listed building applications and support the Historic Churches Committee - Negotiate licences, leases, and undertake title deed investigations - Support risk management, statutory compliance, and quality assurance About You To be considered as a Building Surveyor, you will need: - To be a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS, MCIOB, CABE) or equivalent, with substantial project management experience - At least five years post-qualification experience - Experience managing projects up to 1m, including listed buildings - Experience appointing and managing professional advisers and consultants - The ability to prepare specifications, drawings, and statutory applications - Knowledge of building regulations, planning legislation, and health 'safety The closing date for this role is 5th December 2025.
