Job Description Packing Team ManagerLocation: NormantonAbout UsASR Group is the worlds largest refiner and marketer of cane sugar, producing trusted brands including Domino, C&H, Florida Crystals, Redpath, Tate & Lyle, Lyle's, Sidul and Whitworths. Across North America and Europe, we operate multiple sugar refineries, mills, and innovative product linesincluding Tellus compostable tableware, made from sustainable sugarcane fibre.We are committed to operational excellence, continuous improvement, and creating a workplace where our people can thrive.The OpportunityWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced Packing Team Manager to lead our packing operations across 8 highspeed packing lines, supporting the production of up to 60,000 tonnes of product annually.This is a key leadership position responsible for performance, efficiency, safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the department.If you are a strong people leader with a passion for operational excellence, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact in a fastmoving manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the packing team (approx. 30 employees) to meet or exceed annual production targets.Monitor and report on production performance for each line.Partner with Planning and Maintenance teams to coordinate production schedules, changeovers, and planned maintenance.Manage operating costs within budget, with a focus on labour and contract spend.Improve technical performance using KPIs such as OEE.Drive improvements in safety, hygiene, and quality, ensuring audit compliance and corrective actions where needed.Reduce wasteincluding packaging material, downtime, and process inefficiencies.Champion LEAN principles and support the sites Continuous Improvement culture.Deliver small improvement projects and support large-scale corporate initiatives.Foster a positive, engaging environment aligned with our Employer of Choice values.Work ExperienceBackground in food processing, FMCG, or highvolume manufacturing.Experience managing multiple highspeed packing lines and leading a team of 20+.Knowledge of safety management systems (risk assessments, permits to work, auditing, etc.).Understanding of BRC or similar quality management systems.Handson application of LEAN tools in an established CI environment.Experience with CAPEX projects, installation, and commissioning (desirable).Awareness of automated control systems (desirable).QualificationsDegree in an Engineering discipline essential.Formal LEAN Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement training desirable.
