About the Role We are actively seeking to recruit Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurses who wish to build on their existing experience, clinical skills and leadership qualities to optimise high quality patient care and excellent teamwork. We are currently recruiting for our inpatient area, Ward C2, whereby we provide care for children and young people from birth up to 16 years old undergoing treatment for oncological and haematological diagnoses. As the Principal Treatment Centre for the East of England we work closely with our shared care units around the region and wider teams, to provide continuity of care throughout the treatment trajectory. Our service now also includes Bone Marrow Transplantation and we are continuing to develop this service in preparation for the development of the Cambridge Children's Hospital.ResponsibilitiesTake charge of a shift, act as a positive role model and be involved in staff and service development.Competently provide safe and effective care, without supervision to children requiring in‑patient hospitalisation and outpatient facilities.SACT administration competent.Assess care needs, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care.Participate in the supervision, teaching, mentorship and appraisal of pre and post registration staff.Regularly coordinate the management of care delivered by nursing and support staff and be able to take charge of the area in the absence of the ward manager.Demonstrate leadership ability.Full and part‑time positions considered.Eligibility Due to Home Office immigration rules, a full time permanent vacancy cannot be filled by individuals on a Student visa.
