Superintendent Pharmacist (Online Pharmacy) — Part-Time | ASAP Start (Mostly Remote | North East England)We’re looking for a Superintendent Pharmacist (Part-Time) to lead the professional, clinical, and regulatory direction of our distance-selling/online pharmacy. This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys combining patient safety, clinical governance, and operational leadership—and who’s excited by the pace of a growing digital pharmacy.You’ll be the legally responsible pharmacist, shaping how we run safely and compliantly as we scale. The role is mainly remote, with occasional on-site visits to our North East England hub/operations.What you’ll be doingClinical Governance & ComplianceAct as the primary point of contact with the GPhC and ensure the business meets all statutory and professional requirementsDesign, implement, and regularly audit SOPs tailored for distance-selling operationsLead risk management across online workflows (identity checks, remote clinical appropriateness, misuse prevention)Operational OversightOversee end-to-end dispensing to ensure high standards of accuracy, safety, and efficiencyProvide leadership and supervision to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, supporting development and professional standardsEnsure ethical procurement and oversee supply chain / cold-chain logistics where applicableDigital Innovation & Patient SafetyReview clinical website content to ensure it’s accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with medicines advertising standardsPartner with independent prescribers/clinicians to ensure safe patient journeys from consultation to deliveryAct as final escalation point for complex clinical queries and patient complaintsWhat we’re looking forGPhC-registered pharmacist with a clean fitness-to-practise recordStrong knowledge of the Medicines Act, Human Medicines Regulations, and GPhC standards for registered pharmaciesIdeally experience in online/distance-selling pharmacy (DSP) and/or senior leadership/Superintendent responsibilityComfortable working in digital-first environments (PMR systems, Slack/Teams, e-commerce platforms)You’ll be great if you…Lead confidently in a high-responsibility environmentHave exceptional attention to detail and a patient-safety-first mindsetCan balance regulatory requirements with commercial realities in a scaling businessEnjoy improving systems, governance, and processes—not just maintaining themRole detailsStart: ASAPHours: Part-time (flexible, to be agreed)Location: Mostly remote, with occasional on-site visits (North East England)ApplyIf you’re a Superintendent Pharmacist who wants to shape a modern online pharmacy and raise the bar for digital patient care, we’d love to hear from you.
