Maintenance Engineer

Main Purpose of job:Based at the Head Office site in Newmarket, Suffolk working alongside Our Machine Operators and Maintenance team to ensure that all the company’s assets (including the property) are kept in an optimal condition. To ensure that Caps Cases can run first class machines, producing quality packaging cost effectively. The role can also involve work at our other sites in Baillieston and Peterborough.Relationships:a) Responsible to: Maintenance Manager, Facilities Directorb) Liaison with: Production Team, Maintenance Team, Factory Operatives, HR teamExperience:REQUIRED: Electrical certificationNVQ Level 3 Engineering Maintenance Electrical qualificationDESIRABLE 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations will be a plus.NVQ Level 4 equivalent – Higher Education Certificate/BTEC, Key tasks of the role: Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and repairs to machinery at Newmarket with a view to minimising downtime. Fitting and assembly skills including the use of hand tools and marking out.Welding, fabrication, brazing, soldering and other jointing processes as a plusSheet metalwork including shearing, folding etc. as a plusOn occasions there will be a need to carry our more reactive maintenance, attending to break downs and other unplanned stoppagesdealing with anything related to building maintenanceUnder instruction from the maintenance manager and the facilities director you will be required to communicate with machine operators, fit parts, fault find and offer solutions to problems whilst helping to ensure the companies preventative Maintenance schedule is adhered toMaintaining good housekeeping procedures Following all Health and Safety guidelines and policies        Following environmental and quality awareness in accordance with our BRC / ISO certifications.
