Job Title: Equity Derivative Middle Office Analyst (Controls Analyst)Location: Canary Wharf, London (Hybrid 2 days in office, Mon & Thurs anchor days)Contract: 6-MonthOverall Purpose of the RoleJoin Barclays as an Equity Derivative Middle Office Analyst, supporting the EMEA Equity Derivatives Middle Office team. Youll play a key role in front-to-back reconciliations and controls for the Barclays Investment Managers (BIM) desk, with exposure to a broad range of products including Bonds, Equities, and FX. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with strong controls and reconciliation experience within a financial institution.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform daily reconciliations across cash and position holdingsConduct FOBO, FOFO, inter-entity and book transfer reconciliationsAnalyse discrepancies between internal systems and external filesSupport controls processes for both flow and exotic productsAssist in ensuring accurate and timely Bloomberg-related processes as part of team rotaIdentify risks and escalate in line with SLA protocols (e.g., 1 day to AVP, 3 days to VP)Work closely with internal stakeholders to resolve reconciliation issues and suggest process improvementsApply Excel-based solutions (including VLOOKUP) to support reconciliation and reporting tasksKey Skills & ExperienceStrong background in controls and reconciliations within a financial institutionExperience with financial products such as OTC vanilla options, swaps, and ideally exoticsClear understanding of front office vs back office operationsSolid analytical and problem-solving mindset with a solutions-driven approachComfortable working with large datasets; proficient in Excel (VLOOKUP mandatory)Capable of escalating appropriately and knowing when to ask questionsExperience working with multi-product desks is advantageousAbout BarclaysBarclays is a British universal bank.
