Job Description Job Title - CNC MachinistDuration - 2 Months (may extend)Start Date - ASAPWorking Model - Onsite Newcastle under Lyme (Staffordshire)Hours/Times - 39 hours per week across 4 days. The ideal shift pattern is 6:00pm4:30am, though this is flexible and open to discussion.Hourly Rate - Circa 20p/hour CNC Machinist OverviewWe are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to cover a short-term night shift contract.You will be responsible for setting and operating Fanuc-controlled CNC lathes (mainly Doosan Puma machines) to produce precision components to specification and maintain consistent quality output.The role includes machine setup, tool changes, adjusting offsets, reading engineering drawings, and carrying out basic quality checks on finished parts. This is a hands-on, skilled machining role requiring previous CNC lathe experience and the ability to work independently on nights.The CNC Machinist role will involve:Setting and operating Fanuc-controlled CNC lathes (mainly Doosan Puma machines)Producing precision-engineered components to specificationCarrying out machine setup, tool changes, and offset adjustmentsReading and working from engineering drawingsInspecting finished parts to ensure quality and accuracyMaintaining safe and efficient machine operation during night shiftsThe CNC Machinist will need to have the following attributes:Previous experience setting and operating CNC lathesStrong knowledge of Fanuc controlsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawingsAbility to work independently on night shiftsReliable and able to work to tight deadlinesStrong problem-solving skills in a production environmentIf you are interested in this position, please apply with an up-to-date CV, along with your availability and hourly rate expectations.
