Management Accounts Assistant (12-Month Maternity Cover)Location: Killingworth, Newcastle upon TyneContract: Full-Time (39.5 hours/week), 12-Month Fixed TermSalary: £29,000 £32,000 (DOE) | Flexibility available for the right candidateAre you an experienced accounts professional looking for your next opportunity? Were seeking a Management Accounts Assistant to join our friendly team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This is a hands-on role that covers a wide range of accounting duties, ideal for someone who has a solid understanding of accounting principles and month-end processes.Working HoursYoull work Monday to Friday (39.5 hours/week) with a 1-hour lunch break each day. We offer flexibility in your working hours:Option 1: 7:30am 4:30pm (MonThu), 7:30am 4:00pm (Fri)Option 2: 8:00am 5:00pm (MonThu), 8:00am 4:30pm (Fri)Were also open to discussing flexible arrangements, including adjusted start/finish times or working reduced days per week.Please note: this role is fully office-based.Key ResponsibilitiesAssisting with monthly management accounts, including:Posting journalsBalance sheet reconciliationsOverhead analysisPreparing and submitting quarterly VAT returnsManaging monthly CIS returns and paymentsProcessing PAYE and payroll (weekly & monthly)Monitoring sales and purchase ledgersPerforming bank and credit card reconciliationsPreparing weekly job financial reportsCalculating the monthly Work in Progress (WIP) reportWhat Were Looking ForAAT Level 4 (preferred)Strong Excel skills (essential)Previous experience in core accounting functions such as:Purchase ledgerTurnover trackingOverhead monitoringSolid exposure to month-end procedures and management accountsNRG is an equal opportunities employer committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace.
