Technical Project Manager

Job Description Technical Project Manager up to 50,000/ annum + benefits Newcastle (hybrid 3 days per week onsite) We are building a new hybrid on-premise / cloud, multi-tenant platform to replace an existing Delphi codebase. The Technical Delivery Lead will bring structure, predictability, and technical coordination to the development process. This role ensures work is properly planned, decomposed, tracked and delivered, and provides clear communication between the engineering team and the business.You will sit between the engineering team and the product team, working closely with the Lead Developer and Solution Architect to translate architectural concepts and product goals into actionable plans and predictable delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesDelivery & Planning:Own the delivery plan for the engineering teamBreak down high-level goals into milestones, deliverables, epics, and storiesMaintain a well-structured backlogDefine acceptance criteria with QA and product teamEnsure work is estimated and trackedIdentify blockers and dependencies earlyTechnical Coordination:Work closely with the Solution Architect to turn high-level architecture into concrete implementation plansEnsure architectural and design decisions are documentedValidate that technical decisions align with overall platform strategyTeam Coordination:Run regular planning, standup, and retrospective sessionsExtract clear progress updates from engineersEnsure engineer team members have clear, unambiguous workSupport the Lead Developer without undermining technical ownershipReporting:Provide weekly status updates to the CEO and PMCommunicate risks, delays, and decisionsTrack progress against milestones and forecast deliveryRequired Skills & ExperienceStrong experience in software delivery for complex systemsComfortable working with distributed or hybrid architecturesAbility to understand technical concepts and discuss trade-offsExperience working with senior developers with strong opinionsExcellent communication and planning skillsAbility to break down ambiguous requirements into actionable tasksExperience with GitLab/Jira or similar toolsAbility to bring process without bureaucracyNice to HaveExperience in re-platforming legacy systemsUnderstanding of on-premise deploymentsUnderstanding of multi-tenant architecturesExperience working with a mix of senior and junior developers
