Role Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Indian Chef / Curry Chef / Tandoori with over 20 years of expertise in authentic Indian cuisine, specializing in curries, tandoor, regional dishes, and modern Indian gastronomy. The candidate will be responsible for menu development, kitchen management, staff training, and delivering consistently high-quality dishes to maintain the restaurants reputation for excellence. Key Responsibilities Culinary Expertise Prepare, cook, and present authentic Indian curries and traditional dishes with consistency and precision. Mastery of North Indian, South Indian, Mughlai, Punjabi, Gujarati, Bengali, Goan, and fusion Indian cuisines . Expert knowledge of tandoor cooking, breads (naan, roti, paratha), biryanis, vegetarian/vegan dishes, and regional specialties . Innovate and introduce new recipes and seasonal menus while preserving authenticity. Ensure food is cooked to the highest standards of taste, texture, and presentation. Kitchen & Operations Management Oversee daily kitchen operations , ensuring efficiency and smooth workflow. Maintain inventory control, stock rotation, and procurement of spices, meats, and fresh produce. Ensure cost control and waste minimization while maximizing quality. Implement and maintain health, safety, and hygiene standards in compliance with local food regulations. Leadership & Training Supervise, train, and mentor junior chefs, kitchen staff, and assistants . Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure high standards of food preparation. Develop staff skills in authentic Indian cooking techniques, spice blending, and plating styles . Customer Satisfaction & Brand Development Collaborate with management to create signature dishes and promote restaurant brand. Maintain excellent customer relations by catering to dietary requirements (vegetarian, vegan, halal, gluten-free). Handle special requests, private functions, and high-profile catering events. Skills & Competencies Deep knowledge of Indian spices, herbs, and flavor balancing . Ability to handle high-volume kitchens and fine dining establishments . Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency in menu costing, portion control, and kitchen budgeting . Passion for culinary excellence and innovation . Educational Qualifications Degree/Diploma in Culinary Arts (preferred). Specialized training in Indian cuisine, curry preparation, and food safety certifications. TPBN1_UKTJ
