Purpose of the RoleThe Senior Project Manager will manage the delivery of complex projects within TREAT-NMDs portfolio, ensuring successful outcomes, technical excellence, high standards of quality and governance, and providing guidance and leadership within projects. This role involves managing multiple projects, ensuring suitable project frameworks are developed and maintained, providing leadership within project teams, and engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders internationally.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Delivery & CoordinationLead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple projects across TREAT-NMDs portfolio.Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.Monitor progress, identify risks (RAID), and implement mitigation strategies.Ensure compliance with funder requirements and reporting obligations.Strategic Planning & ImplementationContribute to organisational strategy through effective project planning and deliveryLiaise with internal and external stakeholders to maximise synergies and collaborative opportunitiesFinancial ManagementManage project budgets, including internal costs, external payments and change controlWork closely with Finance to define project budgets, review pricing models, prepare project budget reporting and ensure financial health of projects.Stakeholder Engagement & CommunicationAct as a key point of contact for internal teams, funders, industry partners, and patient organisations.Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership and external stakeholders.Facilitate cross-functional communication and alignment on project goals.Technical Project ManagementUtilise project management tools (e.g. MS Project or similar) for planning and reporting.Support data analysis and reporting activities in collaboration with research teams.Leadership & Team DevelopmentSupport junior team members providing guidance and support as requiredContribute to a collaborative and high-performing team cultureSkills & Competencies RequiredProject & Programme Management: Extensive knowledge of common project management methodologies (PRINCE2, APM, PMP, Agile/Scrum) combined with a minimum of 3 years experience of project management, ideally in a supplier capacity. Budget & Resource Management: Strong financial acumen and experience managing project budgets and resources within a wider project portfolio.Technical Tools: Proficiency in MS Project or similar with an awareness of data analysis tools (e.g. R Studio)Stakeholder Management: Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, with an ability to communicate effectively across all levels and with a diverse set of stakeholders.Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights. Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage project teams Flexibility & Adaptability: Comfortable working as part of a small team within a dynamic environment, continually adapting to new challenges and opportunities.QualificationsEssential:Degree qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline3+ years Project Management experienceFormal Project Management qualification (PMQ/PMP preferred)Proven experience managing complex, multi-faceted projectsDesirable:Experience in healthcare, academic, or international multidisciplinary settingsUnderstanding of neuromuscular or rare disease researchTechnical/data analysis experienceInternal and External RelationshipsThe postholder will be required to form working relationships with a diverse group of people internally and externally. Some UK/international travel and overnight stays may be required.
