Materials Planner

Job Title: Materials Planner Location: Newcastle, UK Type: 6-12 months contract (Maternity Cover) About the Role: A leading organization in the manufacturing sector is seeking a Materials Planner to join their Manufacturing Planning Team on a contract basis (maternity cover). The successful candidate will play a crucial role in planning and scheduling materials to support the execution of the manufacturing plan. This includes working closely with the Master Production Scheduler, supply chain, procurement, and production teams to ensure timely material availability and risk mitigation. Key Responsibilities: Review ERP (Oracle ASCP) system daily to ensure material quantities meet Bill of Materials (BOM) requirements. Convert ERP-suggested requirements into accurate and timely purchase requisitions. Support the Master Production Scheduler to ensure material readiness aligned with the manufacturing plan. Act as the key liaison between project teams, procurement, and production planners to minimize downtime. Monitor and analyze inventory levels to ensure continuous material flow while supporting cash flow targets. Coordinate issue resolution and maintain accurate planning data within the ERP system. Ensure data integrity and accuracy within Oracle ASCP and other planning systems. Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent with proven experience in Material Planning. Hands-on experience with MRP/ERP systems Oracle ASCP experience is highly desirable. Strong understanding of Engineering Bill of Materials (BOM) structures. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.). Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. TPBN1_UKTJ
