This is a genuine opportunity for an ambitious Building Surveyor to step into a business that's investing heavily in its people, its capability, and its long-term presence in the North East. You'll be part of a modern consultancy offering that combines technical delivery with a forward-thinking, advisory-led approach to built assets. Working closely with the wider Building Surveying team in offices throughout the UK, you'll take ownership of a varied workload spanning professional services, project work and technical delivery. You'll also play a key role in shaping client relationships and, as the business progresses the development of more junior surveyors not just overseeing work, but actively helping people progress. This isn't a siloed role either. You'll collaborate with teams across the UK on larger national instructions, giving you exposure to bigger clients and more complex schemes, while still maintaining a strong regional presence.The Role Managing and delivering a broad range of building surveying instructionsActing as a key point of contact for clients, building long-term relationshipsLeading on projects across the full lifecycle - from feasibility through to completion and beyondDelivering core services including surveys, dilapidations, party wall matters and contract administrationPreparing and overseeing planned maintenance programmesSupporting the appointment and management of sub-consultantsProviding clear, commercially aware advice to clients and project teamsMentoring and developing junior team membersContributing to business development and identifying new opportunitiesEnsuring projects are delivered efficiently, profitably and to a high standardAbout You:MRICS (or close to achieving it), or equivalent experienceStrong, well-rounded Building Surveying background across both professional and project workConfident in client-facing situations, with the ability to build trust and win repeat businessSolid understanding of construction methods, contracts and procurement routesExperience acting as Contract Administrator / Employer's AgentA proactive mindset - someone who wants to get involved, add value and push things forwardComfortable mentoring others and contributing to a positive team environmentCalibre Search promote equality in the workplace and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified candidates regardless of their sex, race, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age.
