Working within our Facility Engineering team, we are looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Engineer (Plant & Building Services) to deliver professional electrical design engineering services plant and equipment.Check you match the skill requirements for this role, as well as associated experience, then apply with your CV below. Title: Electrical Engineer (Plant & Building Services) Location: Reading Salary: Up to £52,000 depending on experience plus allowances As an Electrical Engineer your role will require you to: Apply expertise in electrical design and knowledge of building services and associated plant to deliver design solutions for new or upgrading old electrical installations (distribution boards, circuits and connected assets etc). Produce modification packages, manage configured plant changes, and act as intelligent client in acquiring or specifying engineering services or products. Identify defects, non-compliances, and substandard configurations in electrical installations. Evaluate engineered systems and structures to ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards. Propose practical, risk-informed solutions to improve system reliability and performance. Assess and communicate potential business risks and opportunities arising from system conditions. Plan, manage, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, compliant, and high-quality engineering outcomes. Provide advice, guidance, progress reports, and supporting documentation to relevant stakeholders. Review Electrical Installation Certificates and Electrical Installation Condition Reports. Adhere to Company Management System requirements, relevant Technical Standards & Legislation, and business controls. Display professional, ethical, and courteous conduct. For Electrical Engineer roles we are particularly interested to hear from candidates with experience in some, or all the following: Common Electrical building installations and services (3 phase distribution boards and connected assets). COMPEX, UPS, BMS, HVAC, electric hot water systems etc. and industrial processes with a reasonable awareness of associated mechanical & control systems. A good awareness of relevant HSE legislation, industry best practice and standards. IET 18th Edition and Electrical Testing (City and Guilds 2391). Experience within a regulated industries (e.g., nuclear, petro-chem, pharma etc.). Electrical Approved Person competency IET Incorporated Engineer Previous experience as an installer or maintainer would be beneficial, although this role is more akin to design and consultancy services; there will be no hands on installation tasks We would love to hear from individuals with a minimum qualification at Level 4 NQF (HNC) with suitable additional experience (BEng degree in electrical engineering or building services (electrical) would advantageous) who are looking to further their career in a company that can offer superb training and development opportunities.
