Job Description Are you a household / H,I&I chemistry formulator?Are you excited by solving problems that occur in day to day life?Do you want to be given the creative freedom and be involved with cutting edge innovation, in an environment that you get to shape and mould?Our client has entered into an exclusive partnership with Woodstock Recruitment to support them in their search for their new H,I&I senior formulator.As a manufacturer who provide innovative, powerful, low cost, sustainable cleaning and waste remediation solutions, they are set for immediate further expansion of their team, products and services, with big plans for mid to long term future growth.This is an exciting time for the business and an exciting opportunity to join a company that champions products, technologies, services and solutions that are delivered in a way that reduces the impact on the earths natural resources.What you will do:Conduct highly independent development of product formulation, within the context of sustainability-improved cleaning and bioremediationDevelop testing protocols for evaluation of new product formulationsDetermining physiochemical aspects of product stability and efficacy; conducting scientific experiments to develop chemical/bacterial products and defining laboratory/ experimental protocols;Designing tests and monitoring the environmental impacts of chemical formulations when designed and used for biotechnologyChemical and microbial analysis, QC, stability testing of productsDesign and produce prototype products to support field trials and consultancy projectsHolistic product development with focus on application and requirements of clientsCoordination of activities with adjacent teams - microbiological, manufacturing, commercial, field-testing and managementProduce COSHH, risk assessments and standard operating proceduresEnsure all desk and laboratory activities are in compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 17025 and ISO 45001 standards and UKAS accreditationThe essential skills and experience you will need:Experience working in a commercial Formulation or Product Development environment within the cleaning, agrichemical or remediation products sector4 - 5 Years practical laboratory experienceFamiliarity with chemical or environmental analytical methodsExperience of product design and commercialisation of chemical or probiotic products in any industrial sectorExcellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills, showing creativity and adaptabilityExcellent numerical skills, data generation and manipulation, statistics analysisThe additional desirable skills and experience you may bring:Holistic breadth of understanding across Chemistry, Formulation Chemistry, Environmental Science and MicrobiologyExperience in working in ISO 17025 and ISO 45001 accredited laboratoriesExperience in pilot level scale-up, design, operations and manufactureWhat you will receive:Cycle to work schemeFree On-site ParkingCompany PensionGroup Life cover and Critical Illness coverRetail Discount SchemeGym DiscountsEmployee Assistance ProgrammePrivate Medical Cover (on completion of probation)A modern, spacious and well equipped working environment and laboratoryA coastal location, close to the lake district national park with excellent links to the motorway and national rail servicesThe freedom to be a truly creative chemist
