Role: Mechanical Project Manager – Data Centre ProjectsLocation: Milton KeynesEmployment type: PermanentSalary: £80,000 - £100,000 (DOE)We’re working with a rapidly growing name in the data centre sector. Over the last decade, they have become a global leader in providing turnkey data centre solutions to some of the biggest names in the industry.Due to continued growth, they are now looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to oversee the full operational delivery of major projects, from bid stage and pre-construction through to practical completion. You’ll be responsible for ensuring safety, technical compliance, quality, and profitability, while developing strong client relationships and leading a high-performing team.This role is ideal for someone who wants to step up, deliver results, and grow with an ambitious business that continues to expand across the UK and EMEA.Key responsibilitiesTake a proactive lead on Health & Safety, ensuring compliance across all project activities.Support senior management and H&S teams with clear, consistent communication.Deliver projects in line with ISO standards and company processes to ensure consistency for clients.Play a key role in bid and proposal activity, supporting the sales team in securing profitable projects.Manage all pre-construction activities, reviewing scope of works and installation methods to ensure client requirements are met.Oversee supply chain engagement, managing contracts, subcontractor performance, and commercial issues.Identify and manage project risks and opportunities with the commercial team, protecting profitability.Lead and motivate the project delivery team by setting clear objectives, responsibilities, and performance measures.Provide accurate and timely project reporting to clients and senior management.Manage contract reviews, forecasts, costs, and values to maintain profitability and minimise risk.Build and maintain long-term client relationships by understanding requirements and ensuring project objectives are achieved.Drive projects to safe, on-time, and on-budget completion, including snagging and defect management.Represent the business at client and industry events, promoting services and building new opportunities.Mentor and support team members through performance reviews, coaching, and development plans.What we’re looking forStrong leadership and people management skills.Experience managing mechanical packages within data centres or mission-critical environments.Proven track record in delivering large-scale M&E projects.Strong commercial awareness, with knowledge of P&L and costing.Excellent IT skills (Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint).Relevant industry qualifications and accreditations (e.g. SMSTS, IOSH for Managers, CSCS, ECS).Recognised mechanical engineering qualifications.Full rights to work in the UK.
