Grid and Primary Design Manager

NRL are working with a leading client who's projects include major private infrastructure network developments, microgrid solutions, Gas / Hydrogen based generation and Grid support through Battery storage schemes. They are a commercial organisation who generate leads and prospects from multiple clients including DNO’s for work either owned and operated by a DNO or Private Commercial, NHS, Airports and large manufacturing customers operating in a commercial environment.Our Client is now looking for an experienced Lead Grid & Primary Design Engineer to work Client side on projects from initial concept and feasibility through to procurement specification, construction and commissioning. You will be working on critical grid and primary substation projects on private Networks with our customers.What we’re looking forHNC level qualification in a relevant subject;Expertise in primary substation design (11kV to 132 kV including plant specification) in a lead role;Awareness and understanding of Power Transformer Design and procurement;Experience with electrical engineering design and practices and have good knowledge of the electricity distribution business in a lead role;Experience of CDM regulations relating to utility projects;Experience in planning, design and commissioning of 132kV substation projects and 132kV private customer connections;Working knowledge and experience of Etap and DigSilent (or similar software);A full UK driving licence and willing to travel where required.What we’re offeringAn annual bonus scheme25 days annual leave increasing with length of serviceCompany vehiclePrivate HealthcareAn employee rewards portal offering discounts on several well-known brandsA market-leading contributory pension schemeEmployee assistance programme and opportunity for professional development through our L&D function.
