Youll take a leading role in daytoday upkeep of cross-country pipeline systems and sites ensuring high standards of maintenance and overseeing third party works. Youll also assist local team with wider operational activities including emergency and breakdown response across the region.What You'll Be Doing:Carry out routine operational and maintenance activities across pipelines, sites and equipment which includes pipeline walking, plant checks, basic maintenance, vegetation control and general housekeeping.Inspect and maintain pipeline markers, warning signs, valves and other associated assets, ensuring everything remains visible, compliant and in good condition.Keep sites well-presented and safe by completing regular inspections, clearing waste, controlling overgrowth and addressing any hazards promptly.Follow BPAs safety systems of work, including risk assessments, permits to work, isolations and gas testing, ensuring activities are always completed safely.Support the BPA Permit to Work process by preparing documentation, issuing isolation and gas test certificates and supervising staff or contractors working under live permits.Provide practical guidance and onsite familiarisation to colleagues, contractors and visitors, helping ensure safe and compliant operations.Collect cathodic protection readings, assist with investigations into CP issues and support mechanical and electrical maintenance teams when needed.Complete all allocated tasks to company and client standards, keeping records accurate and up to date within BPA systems such as CMMS and Lands.Assist during emergency situations by liaising with emergency services and statutory bodies, while also participating in an outofhours callout rota.What Youll Need:Practical experience in basic mechanical assembly, maintenance tasks or using mobile plant is an advantage.Ability to follow established procedures and maintain high standards of housekeeping, asset care and site compliance.Strong communication skills, good numeracy and confidence with basic IT systems, with the ability to maintain accurate records and reports.Understanding of safe systems of work, including risk assessments, permits to work and method statements.A reliable and proactive approach, capable of working independently or within a team.Flexibility to support operational requirements, including occasional night work and participation in outofhours callouts.Valid UK Driving licenceYou need to be based within commutable distance to Mersey and have the right to work in the UK and a valid UK driving licence.SalaryBasic salary of 26,000 - 28,000Whats on Offer:Ongoing training and development opportunities to support your professional growthGenerous pension (up to 12% employer contribution, 2% minimum employee)Annual bonus scheme (up to 12% of annual salary) with an extra 6% possible for standout performance thats 18%!Life insurance (4x annual salary)28 days holiday + 8 days bank holidays plus the ability to buy/sell holidaysFamily friendly policies from day 1 of employmentAn award winning Private Medical Insurance scheme with additional perksEmployee assistance support schemeVarious well-being initiativesJoin us and become a vital part of a team, Keeping the UK Moving 24/7/365!Diversity & InclusionWe know that diverse teams drive innovation and excellence.
