Job Description Electrical Installation Training Officer Location: Home based with travel across Manchester & MerseysideWorking Pattern: Full time - 35 hours per weekSalary: Up to 40,175 depending on skills and experienceAre you a qualified electrician ready to use your industry experience to support the next generation of skilled professionals?Whether you are an experienced Electrical Assessor, NVQ Assessor, Electrical Trainer or Apprenticeship Coach, or a time-served electrician looking to move off the tools, this role offers the opportunity to develop apprentices and help them build successful careers within the electrical industry.This is a rewarding position where you will combine assessment, mentoring, coaching and employer engagement to support apprentices working towards their electrical apprenticeship and NVQ qualifications. You will work closely with both learners and employers to ensure apprentices develop the technical skills, knowledge and professional behaviours required to succeed in the electrical sector.If you are passionate about developing talent and want a role where you can share your experience while making a genuine difference, this opportunity could be the ideal next step in your career.The RoleAs an Electrical Training Officer / Electrical Assessor, you will manage a caseload of electrical apprentices across the Manchester and Merseyside region, supporting them throughout their apprenticeship journey.You will play a key role in ensuring apprentices remain engaged, progress successfully and achieve their End Point Assessment (EPA).Key responsibilities include:Supporting electrical apprentices through regular workplace visits, coaching sessions and progress reviewsCarrying out work-based assessments against apprenticeship standards and NVQ criteriaProviding clear and constructive feedback to help apprentices develop their knowledge, skills and behavioursWorking closely with employers to ensure apprentices receive the right workplace experience and training opportunitiesMonitoring apprentice progress and implementing interventions where learners may be at risk of falling behindMaintaining accurate documentation of assessments, reviews and learner progressionSupporting apprentices in preparing for their End Point AssessmentEnsuring compliance with safeguarding, Prevent, equality & diversity and health 'safety requirementsCompleting employer vetting and workplace suitability checksPromoting positive attitudes towards learning, professionalism and career developmentRepresenting the organisation at careers events, school visits and industry engagement activitiesMaintaining your own continuous professional development (CPD) and staying up to date with industry standardsWhat We're Looking ForThis role would suit a qualified electrician, electrical assessor or electrical trainer who enjoys supporting others and sharing their knowledge of the industry.Essential RequirementsNVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalentCompleted electrical apprenticeship or recognised industry qualificationStrong industry experience as a qualified electricianGCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at Level 2Excellent communication, organisational and IT skillsFull UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the regionCommitment to professional developmentDesirable (but not essential)Assessor qualification (TAQA, A1, D32/D33)18th Edition Wiring Regulations2391 Testing and Inspection qualificationIOSH Managing Safely or other Health & Safety qualificationPrevious experience as an Electrical Trainer, NVQ Assessor, Apprenticeship Coach or LecturerKnowledge of the building services engineering sectorApplicants who do not yet hold an assessor qualification will still be considered, with support available to gain assessor credentials while in the role.Benefits25 days annual leave plus bank holidaysAdditional leave entitlement with length of serviceChristmas shutdownGenerous pension scheme with employer contributionLife assurance and occupational sick payOptional private healthcareAnnual health checksCycle to work scheme and gym membership discountsAccess to an Employee Assistance ProgrammeOngoing training, CPD and professional qualification supportRetail and lifestyle discount schemesCorporate clothing allowance and travel support
