About the CompanyThe following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.Our client is a long-established and highly respected principal contractor headquartered in Ayrshire, delivering refurbishment, roofing, cladding, coatings and energy efficiency projects across the UK.With a heritage dating back almost a century, the business specialises in external refurbishment, planned maintenance, retrofit and improvement works for public and private sector clients. Operating across housing, commercial, public sector and infrastructure frameworks, they are recognised for their technical expertise, quality delivery and strong commercial performance.Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are now seeking an experiencedQuantity Surveyorto join their commercial team.The RoleAs Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of refurbishment and construction projects from pre-construction through to final account.Working closely with Project Managers and senior commercial leadership, you will ensure robust cost control, contract compliance and accurate reporting across multiple live projects.Key Responsibilities:Preparing and managing cost plans, budgets and forecastsSubcontractor procurement, negotiation and appointmentInterim valuations, variations and change control managementContract administration (NEC and/or JCT)Monthly cost reporting and cashflow forecastingIdentifying commercial risks and opportunitiesFinal account preparation and agreementAbout YouWe are looking for a commercially astute and proactive professional who thrives in a contractor environment.Essential:Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or related disciplineProven experience within a main/principal contractor settingStrong knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contractsExcellent xjdpvnf commercial awareness and cost management skillsStrong negotiation and communication abilitiesDesirable:Experience in refurbishment, roofing, cladding or planned maintenance projectsFramework or public-sector contract exposureAmbition to progress within a growing businessWhats On OfferCompetitive salary (DOE)Car allowance or company vehiclePension schemeOngoing professional developmentOpportunity to join a stable, growing and well-regarded contractorClear career progression within an established commercial team
