Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader

Job Description Maintenance Team Leader (Mechanical) Coalville, Leicestershire Days, 50 hours per week, alternating Saturday mornings 18-20 per hour (46,800-52,000 per year) + Call-out We are looking for a hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader to join a busy manufacturer in Coalville. This is a practical, leadership role where you will guide a small maintenance team, take ownership of planned and reactive tasks, and set the standard for safety, performance, and reliability.Key Responsibilities:Lead a small maintenance team (Maintenance Manager, newly qualified engineer, apprentice, experienced engineer) on day-to-day mechanical tasksTake a hands-on approach with breakdowns, PPMs, and continuous improvement initiativesEnsure Health & Safety policies are followed and lead by exampleSupport team development through training, mentoring, and guidanceManage job reporting and maintain accurate recordsOrganise spares, critical assets, and consumablesAssist with contractors and suppliers, ensuring adherence to site proceduresStand in for the Maintenance Manager when requiredBe part of the call-out rota (1 in /4)Candidate Requirements:Completed Mechanical Maintenance/Engineering apprenticeshipNVQ Level 3 or equivalentIOSH or similar Health & Safety qualificationStrong mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic knowledge with understanding of electrical systemsProven experience leading or supervising a maintenance teamAbility to challenge and support team members to achieve performance and quality standardsGood organisational and communication skillsFlexible and willing to cover on-call duties and overtimeThis is a hands-on leadership role offering competitive pay, practical responsibility, and the opportunity to make a real impact within a supportive, small maintenance teaJBRP1_UKTJ
