A client within the Public Sector based in Greater Manchester is currently recruiting for a Fire Safety Manager to join their Housing Services Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a social housing and high-rise residential environment. The RoleKey purpose of the role will be to lead on fire safety management across the Council’s housing stock, with a particular focus on high-risk residential buildings (HRBs), ensuring compliance with all current fire safety legislation and best practice.Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: • Acting as lead technical consultant on fire safety, delivering complex technical solutions in line with legislation and customer needs. • Leading the Fire Safety Team to deliver inspections, audits, and compliance monitoring across social housing properties and HRBs. • Overseeing fire protection systems, emergency lighting, alarms, and fire doors, ensuring remedial actions are completed to statutory standards. • Preparing high-quality reports and recommendations to senior management, elected members, and external partners. • Supporting training, awareness campaigns, and guidance to staff and residents on fire safety and emergency evacuation procedures.The CandidateTo be considered for this role you will require:A recognised fire safety qualification (e.g. C08 Fire Risk Management in Residential Properties, NEBOSH Fire Safety, or IFE equivalent).Proven management experience in fire safety within social housing or residential buildings.In-depth knowledge of UK fire safety legislation, including the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order 2005 and post-Grenfell compliance requirements.The below skills would be beneficial for the role: • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and produce clear reports. • Experience of managing teams, budgets, and contractors in a complex, multi-site environment.The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £350 per day Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £300 per day PAYE).How to ApplyIf this position sounds of interest, email a copy of your up-to-date CV to [email protected] or call Megan at Service Care Construction on 01772 208967 to discuss the vacancy in more detail.
