Buyer – Civil Engineering & Groundworks Location: Redditch Salary: £35,000 – £50,000 (dependent on experience)We are working on behalf of a well-established and reputable civil engineering and groundworks contractor based in Redditch, who are looking to appoint a Buyer to support their growing workload.This is an excellent opportunity for either:An experienced Buyer currently working within construction or groundworks, orSomeone working for a builders' merchant or materials supplier who is looking to move “client-side” and join a contractor.Key Responsibilities:Procuring a range of materials specific to groundworks and civil engineering (e.g. drainage, concrete, aggregates, reinforcement, site consumables)Managing supplier relationships and negotiating best valueRaising purchase orders and ensuring timely deliveries to multiple sitesSupporting site teams and the commercial department with material availability and lead timesIdentifying opportunities for cost savings and procurement efficienciesRequirements:Previous experience as a Buyer in construction or product knowledge from working with merchants supplying to groundworks/civils contractorsStrong understanding of groundworks-related materialsGood negotiation and communication skillsOrganised and commercially aware with attention to detailThis is a full-time, permanent role with a successful contractor offering long-term progression and involvement in major residential and commercial developments.To express interest or find out more, please get in touch.
