Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Plumbing & Heating Manager to join their branch team in Bury. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong product knowledge and industry experience to take ownership of the plumbing and heating department while driving profitable sales growth. Working closely with the Branch Manager and supported by the Plumbing & Heating Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing customer relationships, managing stock, and ensuring sales targets and margin objectives are achieved. The role would suit someone who understands the local market and has experience trading within the Bury area. As the new Plumbing & Heating Manager, you will: Demonstrate strong knowledge of plumbing and heating products Create profitable sales growth within the department Negotiate sales in line with company budgets and gross profit targets Follow up quotations and convert enquiries into orders Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers Work closely with the Branch Manager and wider team to deliver excellent customer service Manage and maintain core stock levels Identify and manage slow-moving or obsolete stock Ensure all reports and administration tasks are completed accurately and on time Maintain awareness of customer credit limits and trading terms Attend relevant company and manufacturer training when required Ensure all health & safety policies are followed at all times Requirements for this role: Good knowledge of the Plumbing & Heating industry Strong communication and customer relationship management skills Numerate and computer literate Self-disciplined with strong organisational skills Ability to negotiate and manage sales enquiries Must live within or close to the Bury area (Greater Manchester) Ideally, have traded locally and understand the customer base within the last 2 years Benefits include: 36,000 38,000 per annum (Depending on Experience) Quarterly bonus of 6.25% of salary when sales and margin targets are achieved (OTE) On target earning up to 47,500 Full-time permanent position Monday Friday 07:30 am 17:00pm Every other Saturday 08:00 am 12:00 pm Training and development opportunities This role would suit an experienced plumbing and heating professional who is commercially minded, customer focused, and looking to take ownership of a department within a well-established business.
