Hays Health & Safety are thrilled to be working with a major UK organisation delivering complex infrastructure and consultancy projects across transport and public services.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety professional to join their specialist team, supporting operational delivery and driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, and environmental standards.As a Senior HSQE Specialist, you'll provide expert advice and assurance across a portfolio of projects, ensuring compliance with legislation and internal governance frameworks. You'll play a key role in embedding a proactive safety culture and influencing best practice throughout the business.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as a trusted advisor to project and operational teams, delivering practical, risk-based solutions that add real value.Develop and maintain clear, concise reports, procedures, and guidance aligned to corporate standards.Lead and manage a risk-focused audit and inspection programme to identify strengths and areas for improvement.Support project teams in meeting legal and industry requirements, including CDM and integrated management systems.Analyse data and trends to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.Promote a culture of 'Safety First' through engagement and collaboration at all levels.What We're Looking ForQualifications:NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6/7 qualificationChartered (or working towards) membership of IOSH or similarISO 45001 Auditor qualificationExperience:Strong technical knowledge within infrastructure, highways, or consultancy environmentsProven track record in implementing health 'safety management systemsUnderstanding of environmental and quality systems integrationSkills:Excellent knowledge of UK H&S legislation, including CDM and CADStrong communication and stakeholder engagement skillsCompetent in MS Office and ideally SharePoint, Power BI, and related toolsWhat's on OfferStructured career development with clear progression pathwaysFlexible working arrangements to support work-life balanceComprehensive benefits package including pension, health plan, and wellbeing initiativesGenerous holiday allowance and options to buy additional leaveAccess to volunteering days and social value projectsEmployee discount schemes and lifestyle perksThis role offers the chance to make a real impact on safety performance within a leading organisation delivering nationally significant projects.
