Job DescriptionAbout the OrganisationTheVegan Organic Network (VON)is a pioneering charity dedicated to promoting veganic agriculture - an ethical, sustainable method of farming that combines plant-based (vegan) practices with organic cultivation, avoiding all animal-derived inputs. Established to raise awareness, support growers, and advocate for eco-friendly food systems, VON provides resources, education, and practical guidance to farmers and gardeners around the world, demonstrating how agriculture can thrive without exploiting animals or harming the planet.About the RoleWere seeking a creative, self-starting Social Media Manager to amplify our organisations voice across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter and LinkedIn using our existing library of raw content. This role will be responsible for end-to-end content creation, publishing, engagement and simple performance reporting.Key ResponsibilitiesContent Scheduling & PublishingPublish3 pieces per weekto each of: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Twitter.Publish1 post per weekon LinkedIn.Utilise our raw content library to craft engaging posts, including captions, graphics, short-form videos, thumbnails and relevant hashtags.Ensure each piece of work takes approximately2030 minutesfrom concept to live.Community EngagementMonitor notifications, comments and messages across all platforms.Respond to enquiries or escalate to the team as needed within 24 hours.Encourage user-generated content and brand advocacy.Monthly Performance ReportingCompile a concise monthly report detailing:Follower/subscriber growthImpressions, reach and engagement rates (likes, comments, shares)Top-performing content by platformRecommendations for optimisationDeliver report in a shared template (e.g., Google Sheets or PowerPoint) within 5 business days of month-end.Continuous ImprovementStay up to date with platform algorithm changes, emerging trends and best practices.Propose new content ideas, formats or strategies to drive reach and engagement.Time Commitment & LogisticsEstimated weekly hours:57 hours (13 posts 0.5 hour each 6.5 hours)Monthly reporting:~12 hoursContract duration:Flexibleminimum 3-month engagement, with option to extend.Location:Remote (must have reliable internet and access to required software).Qualifications & SkillsProven experience managing social media for a brand or organisation (ideally 1+ year).Strong familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter and LinkedIn best practices and formats.Basic proficiency in content-creation tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, CapCut).Excellent written communication, with ability to adapt tone per platform.Comfortable working independently, meeting deadlines, and juggling multiple platforms.Basic understanding of social analytics and KPI tracking.How to ApplyPlease submit the following to [email protected]:Cover letteroutlining your relevant experience and why youre a fit.Portfolioor links to managed social-media accounts/posts.A brief example post(caption + visual concept) repurposing any piece of raw content (well provide a sample asset on request).We look forward to seeing how you can bring our content to life and help our community grow!
