Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Construction Law (2+ years PQE) to join our dynamic legal team. As a lawyer specialising in construction law, you will provide expert legal advice and representation to clients involved in construction projects, ranging from developers and contractors to government bodies and private clients. You will work on a variety of construction-related matters, including contract negotiation, dispute resolution, compliance, and litigation.Key Responsibilities:Contract Management:Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, including JCT, NEC, and bespoke agreements.Advise on procurement strategies and risk allocation within contracts.Dispute Resolution:Handle construction-related disputes through mediation, arbitration, adjudication, or litigation.Represent clients in court or before tribunals as needed.Regulatory Compliance:Advise clients on regulatory and legal compliance issues, including health and safety, environmental regulations, and planning permissions.Keep abreast of changes in construction law and related fields.Legal Advisory:Provide pre-construction legal advice on project structuring, financing, and risk assessment.Counsel clients on claims arising from construction defects, delays, or breaches of contract.Client Management:Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering tailored and practical solutions.Manage multiple projects and clients effectively, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.Qualifications and Skills:Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with a focus on construction law.Demonstrable experience in drafting and negotiating construction contracts.Expertise in construction disputes, including adjudication and arbitration.Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a team and manage high workloads effectively.A client-focused approach with the ability to deliver commercially sound advice.Preferred Experience:Experience in non-contentious construction law matters.Familiarity with large-scale infrastructure or commercial projects.
