Finance Business Partner Our client is a leading logistics group, providing UK-wide haulage, warehousing and distribution services through our nationwide network of specialist businesses. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a commercially focused Finance Business Partner to join our team and play a key role in driving financial performance and supporting strategic decision-making. The Role As Finance Business Partner, you will act as the critical link between finance and operations. You will provide clear, insightful analysis to operational leaders, helping to shape business decisions, improve efficiency, and support growth. This is a highly visible role, requiring strong communication skills, business acumen, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset. Key Responsibilities Forecasting, Planning & Budgeting Lead the forecasting and budgeting processes across up to 9 business units, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with group objectives. Develop and maintain rolling forecasts, highlighting risks, opportunities, and variances. Provide forward-looking financial analysis to support operational and commercial decision-making. Support scenario modelling, investment cases, tenders, and new business opportunities. Financial Review & Analysis Review, finalise, and comment on monthly management accounts prepared within the business units. Provide clear insight into financial performance, trends, and drivers across warehousing (and transport units as required). Customer sales analysis and trends. Consolidate data from multiple sources into a clear divisional picture. Deliver variance analysis with actionable recommendations for improvement. Business Reviews & Reporting Take ownership of the monthly business review pack preparation, ensuring high-quality analysis and insight. Attend and play a central role in monthly business review meetings, presenting financial performance and forecasts to senior stakeholders. Prepare concise weekly updates on financial and operational performance. Deliver clear, tailored reporting to both financial and non-financial audiences. Systems & Data Utilisation Leverage Blue Yonder Warehouse Management System, Sage 200, Payroll and operational systems to extract, consolidate, and analyse data effectively. Develop dashboards, KPIs, and tools to improve financial visibility across multiple business units. Champion continuous improvements in financial planning, reporting, and data accuracy. Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience as a Finance Business Partner or in a commercial finance role with strong exposure to forecasting, planning, and budgeting. Skilled in reviewing and interpreting management accounts and providing actionable commentary. Strong experience consolidating data across multiple sites or business units. Advanced Excel and strong systems knowledge (Sage 200 desirable). Excellent communication, presentation, and report-writing skills. Ability to influence, challenge, and support site general managers and senior stakeholders. Desirable Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience. Background in warehousing, logistics, or transport sectors. Experience in supporting commercial bids, pricing, or customer profitability analysis.
