We're looking for someone who’s not just interested in the financial sector — but eager to sharpen or grow their technical coding skills in a fast-moving environment where data drives critical decisions.The role sits with the decision science team, but you’ll work very closely with our Investment team — the leaders behind analysing and pricing high-stakes portfolios. The role offers hands-on exposure to executive leadership and external stakeholders, placing you squarely in the centre of strategic conversations that shape our business.This role will be instrumental in improving pricing processes, developing best-practice guidance, and helping a team of investment analysts deliver at their best.We’re seeking someone numerate, self-motivated, and confident — someone who can translate insight into impact and communicate clearly at every level of the business, from peers to boardroom.Key Details£40,000-£45,000 dependent on experience + up to 20% of your annual salary, paid as a bonus.This role is based at our Manchester office. Perch operate a hybrid working policy once initial training is completed.The role includes..Performance Monitoring & Improvements: You’ll be responsible for deep-diving into Perch’s pricing models — developed primarily in Python and built using machine learning frameworks — to assess predictive performance, stability, and financial impact. You’ll identify performance drivers and build automated tools to visualize and communicate model performance clearly across technical and non-technical audiences.Modelling Best Practice: Help define, monitor, and enhance model development standards within Perch. You’ll evaluate model performance across use cases and teams, and codify best practices around feature engineering, validation, and deployment workflows. Longer-term, you’ll contribute to the design of a robust model audit framework — setting out clear policies for lifecycle management, version control, documentation standards, and regulatory alignment.Operational Integration & Experimentation Collaborate closely with the pricing and strategy teams to bridge the gap between modelling and operational impact. You’ll interpret how business strategies and process changes influence model behaviour. Your work will help build tighter feedback loops between strategy, performance, and data-driven execution.You should apply for this role if you have…Strong academic background within a quantitative discipline, e.g. STEM fields(s), Economics, FinanceUp to 2 years’ relevant work experienceProficiency in Python for data manipulation and model development.
