Job Description OverviewAn international FMCG business is seeking a Corporate Lawyer to join its in-house legal team in Manchester. This role offers broad exposure across corporate, commercial and strategic matters, working closely with senior stakeholders and supporting the business through ongoing growth, transformation and M&A activity.The position would suit a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys operating as a trusted adviser within a fast-paced, consumer-focused environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAdvising on a wide range of corporate matters, including M&A (buy-side and sell-side), disposals, joint ventures, restructurings and group reorganisations.Supporting on corporate governance matters, including board and committee processes, shareholder issues and statutory compliance.Drafting, reviewing and negotiating transactional documentation, including SPAs, asset purchase agreements, shareholders agreements and ancillary documents.Working alongside external counsel to manage transactions efficiently and cost-effectively.Providing pragmatic legal advice to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, including finance, strategy and commercial teams.Assisting with wider commercial legal matters as required, including strategic projects and business initiatives.Monitoring legal and regulatory developments relevant to the FMCG sector and advising on risk and compliance.Candidate ProfileQualified lawyer in England & Wales (or equivalent common law jurisdiction).Strong background in corporate law, gained either in private practice, in-house, or a combination of both.Experience advising on M&A and complex corporate transactions.Commercially astute, with the ability to translate legal risk into practical business advice.Comfortable working autonomously while collaborating closely with a wider legal and business team.FMCG, consumer, manufacturing or international business exposure is advantageous but not essential.Whats on OfferA broad, high-impact in-house role within a dynamic FMCG environment.Exposure to senior stakeholders and strategic decision-making.Hybrid working and a Manchester-based role with genuine autonomy.Competitive salary and benefits package.For more information please reach out to Martin Evensen - [email protected]
