Job Description Critical Infrastructure Project EstimatorLocation: Manchester Sector: Data Centres / Critical Infrastructure / M&EHays are supporting a well-established and award-winning technical services contractor delivering complex M&E projects across the UK. With continued growth, a strong pipeline of secured work, and ambitious expansion plans, they are now seeking a Critical Infrastructure Project Estimator to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist contractor operating at the forefront of data centre and mission-critical infrastructure delivery.The RoleWorking within the Critical Infrastructures Division, you will play a key role in securing new business by providing robust, accurate, and commercially sound estimates for complex M&E projects.You will be responsible for pricing major elements including:Electrical systems and critical power infrastructureMain items of plantMechanical, electrical and fabric subcontract packagesLong-lead and specialist equipmentThis role requires strong technical understanding, commercial awareness, and the ability to identify both risks and opportunities within tender documentation.Key ResponsibilitiesIssuing subcontract and material enquiriesAttending site visits and liaising with clients and supply chain partnersReviewing and scrutinising drawings and specificationsCarrying out detailed take-offsRisk and opportunity identificationReviewing subcontractor submissions for technical complianceContributing to value engineering proposalsInputting into programme and lead time analysisPreparing final tender documentation for director sign-offAssisting with formal tender submissionsAbout YouProven experience estimating within Electrical / Building Services / Critical InfrastructureExperience delivering successful tenders in data centres, comms rooms, or similar environmentsA strong understanding of electrical systems and construction methodologiesMinimum 2 years' experience in an M&E estimating role or experience estimating in similar rolesExperience using estimating software (Trimble advantageous)HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical or Building Services (desirable)Full UK driving licenceSecurity Clearance would be beneficial but is not essentialWhat's on Offer60,000 salary with company car 25 days annual leave + bank holidays Supportive and collaborative office environment Opportunity to join a growing, ambitious contractorExposure to complex and technically challenging projectsStrong pipeline of secured and upcoming workCareer progression within a specialist, expanding divisionWhat you need to do nowIf you are an experienced M&E Estimator, looking to specialise further within data centres and critical environments, this represents an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected contractor during an exciting phase of growth.For a confidential discussion, please get in touch on 0161 236 4949 and ask for ShaneHays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
