Popular with tourists, walkers, cyclists and locals alike, we are proud of our strong reputation and community ties as a family-run business.We are looking for an organised and motivated Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day running of the business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hospitality management experience who enjoys a hands-on role while also taking ownership of key administrative and operational duties.Working closely with the General Manager and Head Chef, you will help drive standards, service and efficiency across the business.ResponsibilitiesSupport the daily running of the pub and ensure smooth operationsLead by example on the floor and deliver excellent customer serviceManage shifts and support the team during busy service periodsComplete administrative tasks including emails, bookings, reports and paperworkManage rotas, staffing levels and holiday requests using company systemsAssist with recruitment, onboarding and training of new team membersMaintain staff records, attendance records and HR administrationSupport stock control, ordering, invoices and supplier communicationMonitor labour costs, stock margins and weekly performance figuresEnsure compliance records are completed and up to dateHandle customer feedback professionally and resolve issues promptlyStep up to manage the business in the absence of the General ManagerRequirementsPrevious experience as an Assistant Manager, Supervisor or Duty Manager in hospitalityStrong administration and organisational skillsConfident using email, booking systems and computer-based systemsExcellent communication and leadership skillsPassion for hospitality and customer serviceAbility to remain calm under pressure and prioritise effectivelyGood understanding of health 'safety and compliance standardsHands-on, reliable and professional approachFull UK driving licence and access to transport due to rural locationBenefitsCareer progression opportunities within a growing businessSupportive family-run company cultureStaff discountsStaff referral schemeGroup income protection after qualifying periodLife insurance after qualifying period28 days holiday including bank holidays, increasing with service to a maximum of 33 daysFree on-site parkingChristmas Day offPositive and professional working environmentSchedule10 hour shiftsDay shiftsEvening shiftsWeekend availabilityBank holidays REF-228 159JBRP1_UKTJ
