Job Description Crane Driver / OperatorLowestoft, SuffolkFull-time (40+ hours)Permanent RoleAbout the RoleWere looking for an experienced Crane Driver / Operator to join our team in Lowestoft. Reporting to the Dock Master, youll play a key role in safely operating mobile cranes, supporting vessel and site operations, and ensuring all lifting activities are carried out efficiently and in line with safety regulations.This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, takes pride in their work and prioritises safety at all times.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate cranes to load/unload vessels and lorriesSet up cranes, including outriggers, counterweights, and boom configurationsConduct pre-use safety checks and monitor load weights, stability, and wind conditionsInterpret lift plans, load charts, and LMI systemsCoordinate closely with slingers, riggers, and ground teamsCarry out minor maintenance and report defectsMaintain accurate records of lifting operationsEnsure excellent housekeeping across site, vehicles, and equipmentSupport servicing, inspections, and maintenance schedulesFollow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulationsWhat Were Looking ForCPCS Mobile Crane Operator (A60) qualificationCategory C1 or C LGV licence (required for road operation)Full UK driving licencePrevious mobile crane operating experience Strong understanding of lift plans and technical diagramsExcellent coordination, attention to detail, and safety awarenessGood communication skills and ability to work as part of a teamFlexible approach to working hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call dutiesWorking EnvironmentOutdoor role in varying weather conditionsWork at height and in physically demanding environmentsTravel may be required depending on operational needsSafety CommitmentSafety is at the core of everything we do.
