Note for Recruitment Agencies:We prefer to hire directly and we will be in touch with our PSL Agencies if this role is eligible for release.Cumming Group, a Cost and Project Management Consultancy within the construction industry, provides a wide range of services to clients spanning several different sectors.Cumming Group are seeking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor in London.The role of a Senior Quantity Surveyor includes the following responsibilities:The individual will be an integral part of a team that is accountable for the commercial and contractual performance of various projectsProvide cost management services through pre and post contract processTo support clients and the team in client presentation and new worksTo support business objectives of delivering value for money in all circumstancesTo carry out assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with processes and proceduresComply with established commercial/procurement/ contractual strategiesTake personal responsibility for complying with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Quality StandardsDevelop relationships with clients, consultants and contractorsDrafting, advising and executing the procurement strategiesKey Attributes:The ability to –Preparation of indicative cost budgets and appraisalsPreparation of elemental cost plansProvide advice and opinion in respect of our client development plans and expectationsMarket testing of key elements for the developmentsData analysis on design efficiencies, benchmark comparisonPreparing and issuing tender documentsRunning tender processes including managing queries from tendering contractorsScrutinising and verifying applications for interim paymentsManaging change control in accordance with contractsProducing cost reports and cost forecastingAssisting project managers in preparing Early Warnings, Instructions and Compensation EventsPromote commercial awareness throughout projectAdvising and liaising with internal project and cost control teamDeveloping Commercial StrategiesQualifications & Skills:Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar technical disciplineStrong technical delivery experienceExperience residential projects desirableMRICS or working towards Chartered statusExcellent written and communication skillsAbility to successfully manage complex projects in a proactive and diligent mannerExperience of providing procurement advice, tender documentation and post contract servicesClient facing, ensuring a high standard of deliveryA track record of working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering deadlinesCumming Management Group is committed to creating a diverse workplace and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
