Wework with everyone from global platforms to local operators, giving our membersa voice in national policy, promoting best practice, and helping the industrythrive.We’re now looking for a Membership Development Specialist, someone who ispeople focused, proactive, and passionate about helping a sector succeed. Thisis a fantastic opportunity to grow with the organisation, shape how we engagewith members, and be part of a small, ambitious team at a time of excitingchange.About the RoleYou’ll play a key part in the STAA’s future growth through:Membership Sales & RetentionProactively selling STAA memberships to prospective businesses and individuals.Supporting the onboarding and ongoing engagement of members.Ensuring accurate records and renewals are maintained.Regional Events & Community BuildingPlanning and delivering a calendar of regional membership engagement events across the UK.Hosting or supporting in-person and virtual events to bring the STAA community together.Travelling to and attending STAA events across the UK, and meeting with members in person as required.Member Communications & ContentSupporting member engagement activities including social media, webinars, and STAA’s bi-monthly newsletter.Helping deliver compelling and relevant communications that reflect the needs of our members.Annual Conference & Admin SupportAssisting with the organisation and running of the STAA’s flagship annual conference.Providing general administrative support to the association, particularly in the initial phase before a dedicated admin role is appointed.What We’re Looking ForWe’re open to different backgrounds, but the ideal candidate will have:A confident, professional and personable approach to relationship-building.Experience in membership, sales, or events (or a similar client-facing role).Strong organisational and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple projects at once, from follow-up emails to event planning.A proactive, can-do attitude and comfort working in a small but busy team.Good digital skills, ideally including social media and email platforms likeMailchimp or equivalent.The right to work in the UK.Willingness and ability to travel to events and meet members across the UK.What We OfferA chance to make your mark in a growing national organisation.A flexible, hybrid working environment – mainly remote with travel to events andoccasional meetings in South London.Consideration for part-time applicants.Opportunity to shape a growing membership strategy and be part of future team expansion.Profit-related bonus based on new memberships sold and retained.Sales and business development experience across the UK.A supportive team environment with a strong mission and network.Location:Hybrid.
