This is a pivotal role, responsible for advising on a wide range of regulatory matters and related investigations and litigation, and ensuring M&S operates within its legal and compliance risk appetite.Youll lead a high-performing team, manage external counsel, and act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and the Board on regulatory risks and legal strategy.To stay close to customers, our support teams are in the office three days a week as we believe that skills are developed through collaboration, and that spending time together makes us more creative and connected.What Youll DoYour key accountabilities will includeEnsuring M&S complies with regulatory law and operates within its legal risk appetite.Leading on regulatory investigations, enquiries, litigation and enforcement actions (civil and criminal).Leading M&S relationship with the CMA and other regulators.Partnering the Plan A team on ESG.Designing and maintaining compliance frameworks in collaboration with business teams. Horizon scanning for new and emerging regulatory developments.Managing and developing the Regulatory Legal team, including lawyers and paralegals. Overseeing external legal counsel and ensuring cost-effective legal support.Chairing the Mandatory Training Group and overseeing company-wide compliance training.
