With continued growth and investment in technology, this is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation within the live events industry.About the Event AV & IT TeamThe Event AV & IT Team is responsible for delivering all technical services that support live events across the venue. This includes lighting, audio-visual systems, wired and wireless networking, and the core infrastructure that underpins all event technology services.The RoleAn experienced Lighting & Event AV Technician is required to support the delivery of professional technical presentation services across a busy event schedule. Reporting to senior AV management, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring high-quality lighting and AV solutions are delivered efficiently and safely.The role has a direct impact on client satisfaction and repeat business through the reliable and innovative delivery of technical services.Key ResponsibilitiesRigging, operating, and de-rigging lighting, AV, video, and display equipment in accordance with safety regulationsProviding live event support, including immediate fault-finding and problem resolutionMaintaining and developing the venues lighting infrastructure and operational capabilitiesSupporting the Sales team with the allocation and hire of lighting equipmentSupervising AV Technicians where requiredManaging lighting inventory, storage, patching, and maintenance across the buildingCarrying out first-line maintenance and identifying repair or replacement needsAdvising on new technologies, equipment purchases, and innovative technical solutionsCommunicating clearly with clients, internal teams, and technicians throughout event deliveryTraining and developing other technicians in lighting systems and best practicesSupporting Event IT delivery, including network cabling, basic troubleshooting, VLAN configuration, IP addressing, printers, and IP phonesMaking informed, on-the-spot decisions to support last-minute client requirementsThis role involves frequent use of complex technical equipment and requires flexibility to meet event deadlines.Working HoursCore coverage typically between 7am and 9pm, Monday to FridayShift work required to support eventsWeekend work available (optional)Essential Skills & ExperienceStrong experience with professional lighting and AV equipment (e.g. Avolites, ETC, ARRI, or similar)Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, lighting plans, and scale drawingsGood numerical skills for calculating loads, ratings, and power distributionAbility to manage competing priorities with excellent time managementStrong teamwork and communication skillsCommitment to maintaining and developing technical knowledgeExperience coaching or supporting the development of othersA high standard of accuracy and attention to detailDesirableMembership of AV industry associationsHealth & Safety and access equipment training (e.g. IOSH, IPAF, PASMA)Rigging & Slinging certificationIT networking fundamentals
