Job Description Senior Upholsterer - South West LondonEmployed or ContractorEmployed: Up to 45,000 per annum pro rata Contractor: 2024 per hour (depending on experience and agreement)Senior Upholsterer role:A high-end London workshop producing premium bespoke furniture and commercial interiors is hiring a Senior Upholsterer. This is a hands-on role for an experienced craftsperson who can deliver exceptional finish, work from drawings/specs, and take ownership of work from start to final sign-off. Youll support quality standards across the workshop and collaborate closely with joinery/production to ensure consistency, comfort, durability, and presentation.Senior Upholsterer responsibilities:Produce high-quality upholstery across modern and traditional methods (bespoke and commercial projects)Run jobs end-to-end: build method, upholstery execution, finishing, and quality sign-offInterpret technical drawings/specifications and translate them into practical build methodsSupport prototyping and technical problem-solving for new designs and challenging buildsWork closely with joinery/production on frame build, comfort, construction and serviceabilityAssist with materials planning (fabrics/leathers, foams, interlinings, sundries) with cost awarenessMaintain consistent quality checks and contribute to workshop best practiceEssential experience:Proven high-end bespoke upholstery background (not volume-only production)Excellent finish and attention to detail across premium furniture/interiorsConfident working from drawings/specs and client briefsStrong knowledge of modern and traditional upholstery techniquesComfortable working with a wide range of materials (fabric/leather/foam systems)Reliable, professional communication and a get it done properly attitudeDesirable but not essential:Prototyping/product development experienceMentoring/lead-by-example mindset in a workshop environmentCommercial upholstery project experience end-to-endHours 42 hours/week, MondayFriday (overtime may be available)JBRP1_UKTJ
