Temporary Accommodation Officer Initially 3 months potential to be extended Chatham Kent DL and vehicle needed 20-27 per hour depending on pay type Our client based in Kent is looking to recruit a Temporary Accommodation Officer to provide a high quality, responsive, customer-focused housing management for homeless households living in Medway Council Owned temporary accommodation. You will ensure that all homes are well-managed, are maintained in a safe and habitable condition and meet all statutory requirements in respect of fire safety, amenities and health and safety. The role will be expected to support residents to sustain their temporary accommodation, providing advice and assistance that will support residents to take advantage of full range of housing options available to support them to move on from temporary accommodation. The successful candidate will be responsible for: The day-to-day management of Council Owned accommodation used as temporary accommodation, including placements, voids re-let and general standard of the properties. Manage the placements of residents into temporary accommodation to ensure the best use of the properties in line with the Council's policies and procedures. Liaise with relevant HRA teams on maintenance and repairs, and income management, and third-party organisation (e.g. MEARS, NORSE) required for the safe and smooth day to day running of the Council Owned accommodation. Responsible for making suitability assessments in accordance with Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996 and the Code of Guidance to ensure that clients are placed in appropriate accommodation.
