Payroll Supervisor

Payroll Supervisor - 35,000 to 40,000 + Benefits - Twyford, Berkshire - (5 days on site) FryerMiles is delighted to be partnering with an independent healthcare sector organisation in Twyford Berkshire, who are recruiting a Payroll Supervisor to support on a permanent basis during an exciting period. Reporting to the Payroll Manager the Payroll Supervisor will support with daily payroll function, whereby the employees trust they will be paid accurately and timely. This role is crucial in supporting the operation of payroll activities while ensuring data accuracy, compliance, and timely processing across multiple payroll tasks. Key Responsibilities - Oversee and actively process end-to-end UK payroll, including: - Starters, leavers, and changes - Overtime, allowances, bonuses, and deductions - Ensure full compliance with UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, NI, pensions (auto-enrolment), and statutory payments - Supervise, support, and coach a small payroll team, ensuring workloads are managed effectively - Review and approve payroll outputs, reconciliations, and variance checks - Act as the main escalation point for complex payroll queries from employees and stakeholders - Pension files and statutory reports - Year-end processes including P60s and P11Ds - Maintain payroll controls, documentation, and procedures - Liaise with HMRC, pension providers, and third-party payroll vendors as required - Support payroll audits and internal reviews Skills & Experience - Proven experience supervising or senior-level experience in UK payroll - Strong hands-on experience with full end-to-end payroll processing - In-depth knowledge of UK payroll legislation (PAYE, NI, pensions, statutory payments) - Experience managing or mentoring a small payroll team Desirable Experience - Payroll qualification (CIPP or equivalent) - Experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms Payroll Supervisor - 35,000 to 40,000 + Benefits - Twyford, Berkshire - (5 days on site) TPBN1_UKTJ
